Easy Orange Beef is a flavorful ground beef dish with a citrus soy sauce. It's delicious, easy, and ready in less than 30 minutes!

I love using ground beef for quick dinners. It cooks in just minutes and really is such a versatile meat.
Orange beef is ground beef cooked with red bell pepper, onion, and garlic. All that gets coated in a sticky orange sauce. Think Panda Express orange chicken sauce.
It's so delicious, especially served over rice to soak up any extra sauce!
This recipe is perfect for a weeknight dinner when you have just a few minutes to get dinner on the table. Put your rice in a rice cooker before you begin and everything should be ready about the same time!

Ingredients
- Oranges - you need juice and zest in order to get the most orange flavor in the dish.
- Soy sauce - I recommend using a low sodium soy sauce so that you can control how salty the final dish is.
- Brown sugar - just for a hint of sweetness to balance everything out.
- Cornstarch - this is the thickener for the sauce. It's going to help the sauce really coat the ground beef and vegetables.
- Sesame oil - this is more of a flavoring oil than a cooking oil. Just a tiny bit is going to add so much sesame flavor.
- Ground beef - I recommend a lean ground beef. If you use a fattier beef, you may need to drain the pan after cooking it. You could also use ground chicken or turkey.
- Onion - you can use any color.
- Red bell pepper - you could an orange or yellow bell pepper. I like how the red bell pepper looks but use what you have.
- Garlic
- Green onions - for sprinkling on top of the finished dish. They add a really nice brightness.
- Sesame seeds - I like to use toasted sesame seeds.

How To Make Orange Beef
- Make sauce. Whisk together orange juice, zest, soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and sriracha. Set aside.
- Cook. Cook ground beef until about 75% done. Add diced onion and bell pepper and cook until beef is cooked through and veggies have softened.
- Add sauce. Pour sauce over beef mixture and cook until sauce has thickened and coats everything.
- Top. Sprinkle sliced green onions and sesame seeds on top.
- Serve. Serve with rice.
How Long Is It Good For?
Orange beef will be good in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Make sure to store it in an airtight container.
You can reheat it in the microwave or stove. The cornstarch will likely cause the sauce to be very thick so you may need to add a splash of water or broth to loosen it up a bit.

Can You Freeze It?
You can freeze orange beef for up to 3 months. Let it cool completely and then transfer to an airtight freezer-safe container and place in freezer.
When you are ready to serve it, let it defrost overnight in the fridge and reheat in the microwave or stove. If the sauce is too thick, you can add water or broth to loosen it up.
