Now that the holidays are over and we’re back in the school routine, I find myself relying on my slow cooker just about every day. It’s just so nice to come home to dinner already mostly done.
With these slow cooker buffalo chicken sliders, the chicken cooks all day in a spicy buffalo sauce and ranch mixture so that all you have to do when you get home is shred the chicken and put it on buns!
It’ll take you about 5 minutes in the morning to put the ingredients in the slow cooker and maybe another 5 in the evening to shred it up.
These sliders are quick, easy, and only requires a few ingredients!
They also make a great party snack and the recipe is easily doubled if you are serving a crowd.

Ingredients
- Boneless skinless chicken breasts – I like to use chicken breasts in this recipe because thighs tend to be more fatty and could make your sauce runny/fatty. You could also use them and skim off the fat.
- Buffalo sauce – use your favorite brand of buffalo sauce, whatever you would use when you make wings!
- Ranch seasoning mix – the powdered mix. You could add even more spice by using the spicy ranch seasoning mix.
- Slider buns – use whatever buns you like. We like the sweetness of the Hawaiian slider buns with all the spice of the buffalo sauce.
- Ranch dressing – this is optional, for drizzling on top of the chicken before serving.

How To Make Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sliders
- Prep. Add chicken to slow cooker. Pour buffalo sauce over chicken and sprinkle with ranch seasoning mix. Turn the chicken over until fully coated.
- Cook. Cook on high for 3 – 4 hours and low for 6 – 7 hours, until chicken easily shreds.
- Shred. Shred the chicken and toss it in the sauce.
- Serve. Serve shredded chicken on slider buns with ranch dressing drizzled on top, if desired.

How Long Is It Good For?
The buffalo chicken will be good for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. Make sure to store it in an airtight container to keep it good for as long as possible. You can reheat it in the microwave or on the stovetop.
I would not try to store already assembled sliders as the buns will get soggy in the fridge.
Can You Freeze It?
You can freeze the buffalo chicken for up to 3 months. I would use a freezer ziploc bag or other airtight, freezer-safe container.
When you are ready to serve it, let it defrost overnight in the fridge and reheat in the microwave or on the stove.
Variations
- You could add cheese to these if the spice is too much or if you just want cheese. I would use either shredded monterey jack or cheddar. And then pop the assembled sliders in the oven just for a few minutes, until the cheese is melted.
