These are my kids’ current obsession. I always say that my family loves anything wrapped in a crescent roll but they really, really love these.
It’s basically buffalo chicken dip wrapped in crescent rolls and baked until the crescent rolls become golden brown and so flaky. It’s such a good combination because the buttery crescent rolls balances out the heat from the buffalo sauce.
Why You’re Going To Love This Recipe
- Buffalo chicken is always a crowd pleaser. It’s a classic flavor that everyone is familiar with.
- These rolls are so easy! Ready in about 30 minutes. I used a rotisserie chicken so that I didn’t even have to cook the chicken beforehand. You really just stir together the filling ingredients and wrap them in crescent rolls.
- Only 6 ingredients! You only need 6 ingredients for this recipe and all the ingredients are things I keep on hand most of the time. It’s a great one for throwing together when you don’t feel like going grocery shopping.
- They are inexpensive. This is a great budget recipe because a lot of the ingredients are things you probably already have in your fridge.
Ingredients
- Crescent rolls – the star of the show!
- Cream cheese – this makes the buffalo chicken mixture so creamy! No need to bring it to room temperature because it is getting melted.
- Buffalo sauce – I use Frank’s Red Hot (regular, not the wing sauce) in my buffalo chicken recipes but you can use your favorite. I find that Frank’s adds the perfect buffalo flavor without adding a ton of spice.
- Ranch dressing – the already prepared stuff. Use your favorite brand or even a homemade recipe.
- Cooked chicken – you can cook your own chicken or grab a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store like I did!
- Cheddar cheese – you could also do monterey jack or a cheddar jack.
How To Make Buffalo Chicken Crescent Rolls
- Make filling. Stir together cream cheese, buffalo sauce, and ranch dressing over low heat until melted and smooth. Add diced chicken and cheese.
- Assemble. Separate crescent rolls into triangles. Add heaping tablespoon of buffalo chicken mixture to the wide side of each crescent roll. Squeeze together the closest corners and wrap the long side over top, tucking the end underneath.
- Bake. Bake on parchment-lined baking sheets according to crescent roll package instructions, 12 – 14 minutes.
What To Serve with Them?
I served these buffalo chicken crescent rolls with sides of ranch and buffalo sauce for dipping. You could also do blue cheese dressing.
I also added some baby carrots since they are a classic buffalo chicken side dish. If your family likes celery, you can also add some celery sticks.
How Long Is It Good For?
Buffalo chicken crescent rolls will be good for up to 3 days. Make sure to store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
You can reheat them in the microwave or a toaster over if you want to get a little bit of crispness back in the crescent rolls.
Can You Freeze Them?
You can freeze these buffalo chicken crescent rolls for up to 3 months. Let them cool completely and then place them in a freezer ziploc bag.
When you are ready to serve them, defrost overnight in the fridge and reheat in the microwave or toaster oven.
