Sautéed shrimp and pasta in a spicy, creamy sauce. Spicy Shrimp Pasta is ready in less than 30 minutes and is going to be a family favorite.
Shrimp is one of my favorite proteins for really fast dinners. It cooks in about 5 minutes so you can really get it on the table quickly.
We love Blackened Shrimp Alfredo, Spicy Orange Shrimp, and this Spicy Shrimp Pasta.
This dish comes together in less than 30 minutes. It’s shrimp and pasta in a spicy tomato sauce. To make prep really easy, it calls for a jar of store-bought pasta sauce.
Ingredients
- Penne pasta – you can use any small pasta
- Butter
- Oive oil
- Shrimp – make your life easy and buy it already peeled and deveined
- Crushed red pepper flakes
- Pasta sauce – use your favorite kind but I suggest one without a lot of chunky vegetables
- Half and half
- Fresh spinach
- Salt and pepper
- Parmesan
How To Make Spicy Shrimp Pasta
- Cook pasta. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Cook shrimp. While pasta is cooking, melt butter and olive oil together in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and crushed red pepper flakes and cook 3 minutes on each side. Remove to a plate.
- Make sauce. Lower heat to medium and working in the same skillet, whisk together pasta sauce and half and half. Stir in fresh spinach. Bring to a boil and let cook until spinach wilts, just a couple minutes.
- Combine. Once pasta has been cooked and drained, add it to the sauce. Add shrimp back into the skillet. Toss to combine.
- Taste and season. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Serve! Serve hot with Parmesan cheese on top.
How Long Is Shrimp Pasta Good For?
Spicy shrimp pasta will be good in the fridge for up to 3 days. Make sure to store it in an airtight container.
When you are ready to serve it, reheat it in the microwave or on the stovetop.
What Goes with Spicy Shrimp Pasta?
I like to serve this with French bread to soak up any extra sauce. A side salad or roasted green vegetable also goes well with it.
