All the flavors of a classic lasagna but in an easy Instant Pot recipe! Instant Pot Lasagna is perfect for a weeknight since it's ready in about 20 minutes. Pasta and ground beef in a creamy, cheesy ricotta sauce.
We also have an Instant Pot Spaghetti recipe!

Okay, this isn't exactly lasagna but it's as close as you're going to get in the Instant Pot! And it's ready in about 20 minutes which could never happen with a real lasagna.
It has all the flavors you love in lasagna. It has the pasta, ground beef, marinara sauce, ricotta, and mozzarella cheese. It's just not layered like a classic lasagna would be.
It's one of my favorite weeknight dinner recipes because I almost always have all the ingredients and it takes no time to put together.

Ingredients
- Ground beef - I like to use a lean ground beef so that I don't have to drain it. You can also use ground turkey or ground chicken if you prefer.
- Garlic powder - you could use fresh garlic if you prefer.
- Onion powder - you could use fresh onion if you prefer. Cook it with the ground beef instead of adding it after.
- Italian seasoning - if you don't have Italian seasoning, use any mix of dried basil, marjoram, oregano, rosemary, and thyme.
- Salt and pepper
- Marinara sauce - use your favorite store-bought or homemade recipe.
- Farfalle pasta - also known as bowtie pasta. You could use another shape of pasta but may need to adjust cooking time depending on how thick/big the pasta is.
- Ricotta - this is the creamy part of lasagna. It gets stirred into this pasta and makes the entire dish creamy and every bite has the taste of ricotta.
- Mozzarella cheese - this gets stirred into the pasta so the entire dish is so cheesy and delicious.

How To Make Instant Pot Lasagna
- Cook beef. Use the saute function of the Instant Pot to cook ground beef. Drain if necessary. Turn off Instant Pot.
- Season. Season beef with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Layer. Pour marinara sauce over the meat. Add pasta on top of the marinara. Pour water over the pasta and gently press pasta down so that it's all covered with the water.
- Cook. Cook on high for 4 minutes. Do a quick release as soon as Instant Pot is done.
- Add. Stir in ricotta and mozzarella cheese.

How Long Is It Good For?
This pasta will be good for up to 3 days. Make sure to store in an airtight container in the fridge.
You can reheat it in the microwave.
Can You Freeze Instant Pot Lasagna?
You can freeze it for up to 3 months. Let it cool completely and then transfer it to an airtight, freezer-safe container and place in freezer.
When you are ready to serve it, let it defrost overnight in the fridge and reheat in the microwave.
What To Serve with Lasagna
I like to serve a salad on the side of lasagna. I also like to serve a cheesy garlic bread or breadsticks.

Recipe
Instant Pot Lasagna
All the flavors of a classic lasagna but in an easy Instant Pot recipe! Instant Pot Lasagna is perfect for a weeknight since it's ready in about 20 minutes. Pasta and ground beef in a creamy, cheesy ricotta sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- black pepper
- 1 (24 ounce) jar marinara sauce
- 1 pound farfalle (bowtie) pasta
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup ricotta
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
Instructions
- Press saute button on Instant Pot. Add oil. Once oil is hot, add ground beef and cook, breaking up the meat, until no pink remains. Drain if necessary.
- Season ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Turn Instant Pot off.
- Pour marinara sauce over the ground beef.
- Pour pasta over the marinara sauce, trying to evenly distribute the pasta.
- Pour the water over the pasta. (I like to put the water in the marinara jar and shake it up and then pour it over the pasta to make sure I get all the sauce out.)
- Do not stir! You want the pasta just covered with water so you can take a spatula and gently push the pasta down if necessary but no need to stir.
- Cover and seal Instant Pot.
- Cook on high for 4 minutes.
- When Instant Pot is done, do a quick release.
- Stir in ricotta and mozzarella cheese.
